The MVP Photon is the first 21.5 cm distance driver in the MVP line. This disc is described as a longer Tesla, and will exhibit some max distance generating high-speed turn for power throwers. The Photon is naturally wind resistant for average players and works well for sidearm throws. This is a thin disc with a sleek, flat profile.

Summary: If you prefer flat top discs, and want something close to a Destroyer.

Feel: Neutron plastic is my pick for best plastic that isn't ultra durable. The grip from Neutron plastic is second to none that I have personally tried, like Star plastic but more firm. The rim has a very slight step as it goes into the overmold outer rim, but you shouldn't notice it unless you're just feeling the disc in a non-throwing manner.

Flight: It's pretty typical "Destoyer like" flight. Most of the difference comes from the feel, it's pretty standard straight flight with a consistent finish.

The Photon is a good distance driver. It is more overstable with almost no turn though. However, it does feel decent in the hand and can handle a lot of power without turning over. Good headwind disc.

This disc is great, but it was not was I was expecting at all. Looking at the flight numbers, I expected it to fly similarly to a Wraith, but that was not the case at all. For me, it is meathook, which is fine just not what I expected. I have a max weight Photon in Cosmic Neutron plastic, it has a very flat top and feels great for forehands. My flight comparison would be a slightly faster Firebird, but maybe I just got a weird run.

This thing shreds. I've had a cosmic neutron Photon for 3 or 4 months now and it's become my favorite distance driver, replacing the slot once filled by a Destroyer or Boss. It is very reliable, the most consistent driver in my bag. It simply does the same thing every time I throw it. I use this disc for big hyzers, long flat to fade shots, and downhill bombers. I wouldn't recommend it for distances under 350', this disc flies best when you throw it hard. Ideally one would use this for shots in the 370'-400'+ range.

Thrown flat and hard, this disc flies absolutely laser straight for the majority of it's flight and then fades very reliably. It will never turn n' burn on me, even on long steep downhill shots.

In cosmic neutron plastic, I would change the turn rating to 0. However, Cosmic Neutron is more overstable than MVP's other plastics.

Got in cosmic neutron 169g, feel of the disc is amazing for look of the colors is even better. Filled the slot in my bag I was looking for something overstable that wouldn't . Turn over if I overturned it on anhyzer with a FH. & it does that no problem. BH I use it some on anhyzer, but mainly its my off the tee power forehand driver. That I know I can depend on for a nice flex line.

My buddy gave me two 174g Neutron Photons that he recently bought. He does not throw as far as me and he thought the reason they didn't work for him was that he did not have enough power in his throws. I took them out to the field and started throwing them and I was so surprised at how overstable these discs were. I have thrown a lot of MVP/Axiom discs, and bag quite a few of them so this was not my first MVP rodeo. MVP usually advertises very accurate flight ratings, especially if you get their discs in the Neutron plastic. However, this disc flew more like a fireball or firebird rather than a stable distance driver.

If your looking for a stable distance driver, this not the disc for you. If you want a really overstable 11 speed disc, then this one will do the trick.

I first got a 138g Fission plastic and this disc flew pretty straight and faded for me.  I purchased a 155g Plasma one a couple years ago and really loved this disc in the wind.  I just bought a 158g Cosmic Neutron one and this is most definitely an overstable "meathook".  There is a difference in the plastic runs for this disc.  I would most definitely recommend to an intermediate player who wants that dependable fade at the end of the flight of this disc.  It's also a good wind fighter too.  Not so beginner friendly for someone just learning to throw.

This disc made a great replacement for my Innova Wraith, which had been becoming too beat in and too understable. It does not have the exact same flight path, but it hits the lines I want it to and flies pretty well.
