The Westside King is one of the FASTEST golf discs on the market. While this ultra-fast disc is overstable, it has a decent amount of turn, allowing it to glide and fly further than most discs this fast. Although the King has a 14 speed rating, its rim is a moderate 2.3cm. This is an excellent disc for intermediate and advanced players who want to get more distance on their drives.

I throw right handed forehand and this is my go to disc for distance. Take it out and throw it as hard as you can and get a feel for how much to tip the disc down and you'll love it! I've tried different weights also. I wouldn't suggest any of the 150-160's. 168 and up fly way better. My choice is the 175g and throw it in wind or whatever.

Stop me when you've heard this story before. I was new to DG and started out with a nice 10spd driver (probably too fast already) and wanted to throw further. So, why not pick up a 14spd disc?! Haha, I grabbed this at my local sporting goods store in hopes that I would be out throwing all my friends and as anyone else who has done this can guess, I did not. I throw mostly forehand and simply did not have the form or arm speed to get this thing to go anywhere close to where I wanted. It would meat hook out of my hand and hyzer straight into the ground about 150ft out. I disced down for awhile and didn't touch this disc for months. Recently, I pulled it out of my bag and tried again. Much better results, but still was throwing just terribly 40% of the time. When thrown PERFECTLY, this thing bombs. However, if you go slightly nose up, a little too much hyzer, not enough arm speed, then into the woods you go!

First off, I got this disc because I thought it looked cool. I am new to the game and thought this would be a fun disc to throw.

This disc is extremely understable. If I throw it with any power, I have to put a steep hyzer angle on the disc to keep it from turning over, and, since I am new to disc golf, hyzering the disc feels uncomfortable because I am still trying to dial in my form. It is a fun disc that flies far when I get it right, but it is not reliable enough to throw consistently.

This disc only gets a place in my bag because I do not have enough disc to fill my bag yet. Generally, I will throw this disc to practice my hyzer flips in the field and on open holes, but I do not think I will keep this disc often.

I am neutral on my recommendation to beginners because the King may work for those with slower arms speeds, it is just not the disc for me. I will probably keep this disc a driver to practice my form, but I will not hold onto it to play rounds with.

I got a VIP Air king from a buddy when I was quite young and when I got back into disc golf I found that the King was by far the furthest throwing disc I had. But as my form and armspeed  sped up, I noticed that I was not able to control this disc. It would flip up from a steep hyzer and never stop flipping until it hit the ground super far to the right. I found it was nearly impossible to use unless it was a super far anhyzer shot or a roller. I think it may have been partially because I got it used. I think this disc in the VIP Air plastic would be a super beginner friendly distance driver than many new players could utilize to increase their distance. But it may start out a little more stable than I think it will. I really liked the feeling of the king in my hands and wish I had the disc in a more durable plastic. If you are a beginner looking for some extra distance maybe check out the king in the VIP Air plastic.

The King is by far one of my favorite drivers. It is one of the only high speed drivers that an average player can flip up to flat from an extreme hyzer release. I bagged a 158 VIP AIR. The plastic was really durable and has a great feel in the hand. It is really grippy but no so much that it causes grip lock.

I just lost it into a lake on a windy day I released it flat and it turned over and never fought back. Best distance driver I bag in minimal wind or a tailwind. It is way to flippy for any type of headwind.

I have thrown a 170G and hyzer flipped it flat as well! The king has really helped me build my confidence in throwing higher speed drivers. The King can be a great bridge into high speed from control drivers.

I have two new Kings on their way. 1 - 175G and another 170G. I usually throw lower weight discs 155-160 max but the king has helped me increase my arm speed and driving form! I am now getting into heavier weights.

This is by far my favorite disc. It is an under-stable disc unlike the numbers would tell you. It feels much closer to a -2 or -3 turn and 2-3 fade. Speed and glide 14/5 seem right.

I ordered a VIP Air King as a recommendation from a friend and did not like it at all. I think I just happened to get unlucky with the mold because the disc was extremely understable for me. Even released with hyzer it would go right and never come back. I gave it to a friend with a slower arm speed and his luck with it wasn't any better. Perhaps use a higher weight King if you don't have a complete noodle arm.

My go-to for any distance hole where I have an opening to turn right and fade left.

The flight pattern on the Westside King is one of the most consistent flights I see out of my high speed drivers.

I typically throw speed ~11, but the King really rips when you put your arm into it!

This is one of those discs that will always have a spot in my bag.

I have a westside king that i found this last summer at a nearby course that i play often. it is a lighter weight so a really thought i would flip it over, but to my surprise i find i can absolutely bomb this thing out to around 400 or so which is pretty long for me. dead straight with a little fade. every once in awhile it gets away from me an turns over hard. pretty decent disc over all.
