I know that discs with turn are supposed to be regarded as beginner friendly, but picking up one of these as a bigger was not a happy experience.  I previously bagged a Mamba and looked to this as perhaps the next logical step in moving up a speed and instead found something that was perhaps a bit too hard for me to control due to its wider rim width.  If you're somebody who likes wide-rimmed discs and wants to have something with a high-speed turn and glide, you could try this out, but I would instead recommend either the Sidewinder or the Mamba depending on whether you're looking for a utility/roller disc or an extremely understable distance driver.

I was looking for something to move forward from the Mamba. Being new, Older, and slow arm speed, the Mamba was beginning to work for me, but sometimes to flippy. Was recommended that I try a Vulcan. Little faster, and slightly less turn.
So wrong of a choice for me. Maybe it's still too much speed for me to make it do what it should, but being able to throw the Mamba 300-325, I figured it would fly at least a little understable.
The Vulcan requires that I throw it with a lot of anhyzer just to get it to start straight, and then turns into a meathook. I now use it for a completely different shot than I bought it for. Throw it out wide right, and use a hard flippy angle. It stands up right away, then dives left (RHBH) for a good skip AceRun on hole that are open for that shot.

I will not be bagging another, as it does not fit my game yet.
I am reting how it flies for me, hope it suits the younger stronger beginners better. Not an old man disc.

I have a blizzard vulcan at 139 grams. I have been very slowly making my backhand get better and using this disc is the only way I can throw distance drivers of this speed right now backhand. The under stability plus the light weight makes the smallest of arms excel!

Holy smoke, Doctor Jones. How do more people not talk about this driver? If it were in my gun cabinet, it would be a rocket launcher. If it were in my garage, it would be a race car. In my bag, its the farthest, fastest disc I have and my game is better for it. Obviously, between it and the Destroyer, I am making the right call if I had to choose one. It's like picking a baked potato with butter for every meal over ice cream 24/7. I don't have to like the dilemma, but the long term solution is obvious. I adore the Vulcan for those beautiful big bombs down empty straights and being able to tell within a relative degree where my next shot would be made from. This was a big complaint I had with the Daedalus, which turned much too severely for my liking and ended up going extremely far at the expense of any accuracy whatsoever. To continue with the Vulcan, I also have another unpopular opinion. Unless you're Eagle McMahon, you don't need a speed 14 disc. You really don't. This, as far as PHYSICs are concerned, as cutting edge a disc the PDGA will allow. Did you buy it? If you did, it's your fastest disc. It just is now. Shh, shh, yes, yes. It is. Congratulations.

PROS: The fastest disc you will ever own. The Millenium Falcon drew its inspiration from this disc.

CONS: If you are a beginner and buy this you're going to have a rough time of it. A beginner throwing this is like a spoiled high school freshman trying to socialize at a frat party.

Terrible for beginners, terrible for anyone.  I want to say good things about this disc, but there is something seriously wrong with the consistency of this mold. You just don't know what flight characteristics your disc will have when you buy an Innova Vulcan.

I don't have a 'crazy' arm, but I can forehand 400ft all day long with a Destroyer. Somehow, my champ Vulcan is a complete meathook.... this thing will not turn over no matter how hard I throw. Even with steep anhyzer, it fights out harder than my Firebird. I threw my friend's Vulcan out of curiosity, and that disc is basically an instant roller if I throw more than 75% power.

    My flight numbers 13--5--??--??.  Avoid.

This disc is, from a physics standpoint, the most aerodynamic disc possible within the pdga guidelines. As such, it has the potential to be the furthest throwing disc ever. This only is true if you are able to throw the furthest ever, however. The runs of this disc are all over in stability. I've had some that will flip over on their back, and some that fly like an x-caliber. Best of all time driver, but you have to find the right one.

I've owned two Max weight champion Vulcans. The first one I had behaved according to the flight numbers, and I loved it. I recently lost it, so I bought a second one, and that one is one of the most overstable discs I've ever had. I've never seen a disc that flew so unlike how it's supposed to. I would say it's a different mold, but I know it's still a Vulcan because of the weird dome.

Flight: This disc flips over straight into the ground when thrown flat with power but not consistently enough to be a roller. At lower speeds this disc still has a noticeable amount of turn and to get it to fly straight you will need to put a good amount of hyzer on it. I was able to get really good distance out of this disc if I threw it perfectly but it was never consistent and was always really sensitive and not forgiving with its angles. Usually this disc would turn over and never come back, or quickly flip into the ground. Neither of these outcomes I found consistent enough for me to try and use this disc for.

Plastic/Feel: I have thrown this in Champion and Star plastic. When I bagged this disc I used the Champion plastic. This disc feels wrong in my hand, the fight plate has a ridge at the end of the rim and it felt uncomfortable in my hand.

The Vulcan was a disc that I really did not enjoy throwing. It did not feel comfortable in hand, and it was really quite flippy and inconsistent. Not a distance driver that I would reach for at all in the future.

This is one of my favorite discs in my bag. I love the turn on it. I use it a lot on straight, long-distance shots. I have been leaning towards the star plastic as it provide better grip, so if I were to purchase it again, I would get the star plastic. Still has a strong fade also aftter turn which makes it a nice.

man i can really bust some RHFH out there with this guy. it is great for the backhand as well. i have an ultimate background but can huck this thing forehand about 380. had an eagle the other day with a drive of roughly 400. the backhand can be a bit finicky for me but it really zips when i release it right.
