The Shield is the overstable Westside putter that was used as part of the 2014 Trilogy Challenge. This putt & approach disc is more stable than the Swan and a straighter flyer than the Westside Harp. This is a very tall disc at 2.5cm tall, and is relatively flat. Like all Westside putters, this disc will be available in the BT plastic blends.

This is the best putter for me. I started playing disc golf using the KC Pro Aviar and i liked that but the KC Pro plastic is a little slick for me. Then i went to the Zero Hard Dagger and that was too deep, then i finally landed on the Shield in the BT Hard plastic. I use it for all my putts and throws off the tee. It is a very straight and reliable putter in the circle as you get farther away it will start to fade. It is very comfortable in the hand and that is what drew me to using it as my only putter. Off the tee it is nice and stable with a slight fade at the end. I also have it in VIP plastic and that is significantly more overstable than the BT Hard. A great all around putter that i think is amazing for putting, jump putting, and drives.

Really nice stable Aviar style putter, but with this odd little not quite a bead lip on the bottom to add some stability. It's not beefy or really overstable but it could work for a lot of people as a throwing or putting putter. I didn't love the feel, but it holds a straight line really well and you can spin putt it with the big boys.

The Shield is a putt and approach disc from Westside Discs. This feels really bulky in the hand, though I didn't dislike it. It has a high profile, but flat top. I tried to use the Shield in the circle as a putter at first, and I really didn't like it for that purpose, but when I threw it off the teepad, this thing just sailed. It has great glide, giving it excellent distance potential. It also held up to power pretty well, while still being very workable. I really liked this disc for approaches and drives, but I would use something else for putting needs.

I tried a lot of different putters looking for one that felt just right and finally landed on the Shield. Before I was using it just as a driving putter and for long approaches because I was using a Dagger but as I used the Shield more it just feels more comfortable in my hand and I get cleaner, more consistent releases with it. I think the numbers are fairly accurate... maybe a 2 instead of 3 speed, not that it really matters much.

One of the reasons I switched to the Shield is that it does everything for me that I want a putter to do. I like it for short putts, long putts, approaches up to about 200 ft, hyzer and anhyzer shots, short drives off the tee. There's very little I can't do with this disc. I can throw it forehand but much prefer my Harp for that and if there's much headwind I also prefer to throw a Harp.

I have it in Tournament and BT Hard plastic, both 175g. If I drive off the tee I'll use TP and for everything else I use BT Hard unless there's a good chance I'll hit a tree- BT plastic is NOT durable but I love how it feels. The stiffness of BT Hard makes it feel more controllable to me and also I think if it hits the cage it stops fairly well instead of getting that weird bounce that I've experienced with softer plastics.

I've tried going back to the Dagger and some other putters too but as soon as I put the Shield in my hand it just feels right.

Nice stable putter with a lot of glide. This is a really good driving putter because of the glide that it has. Will stay on the line you put it on.
