The Shield is the overstable Westside putter that was used as part of the 2014 Trilogy Challenge. This putt & approach disc is more stable than the Swan and a straighter flyer than the Westside Harp. This is a very tall disc at 2.5cm tall, and is relatively flat. Like all Westside putters, this disc will be available in the BT plastic blends.

So, I just started playing last season. I played with some ranked people and they gave pointers but still very new. I have found I throw most consistent with Westside disc, no perfect, but more consistent with what I am attempting. I bought a 5 pack of shield BT hard burst for practicing putting in my back yard. This is the first time I have begun to actually practice any shots. Now, putting to me is 15 - 25ft range. I hardly move back past 15ft yet. With all that said, I use 10 disc to put, and the Westside shield I tend to sink more than the others. The judge Lucid used to be my choice, but I am missing with it more. I do like the feel of the harder plastic, for me at least. GL!

**Update: Still using the BT Hard burst SHIELD - and I'm sticking with it - I've been putting better than ever - It's polite.  It's right.  Easy...Sneezy...Mc...Deluxe  - I would absolutely recommend this disc - though I understand putters are all personal and any putter is fine as long as it works for you - but this one is by FAR my favorite inside 40 ft.

*Update: I recently tried a TP Shield - very different from the BT Hards I've been using - It feels 'bigger' for sure - where the BT Hard seemed to have LOW glide and fairly OS - the TP seemed to have decent glide and fairly straighter - Both were max weight - just my experience - so I can see TP being very straight and glidely where BT lower glide and little more dump initially*

I was looking around for a new putter to try.  I have dabbled in about 4 different putter molds in the last couple months.  I ended up trying the Shield and really liking it.  First, I would rate it 3/2.5/0/1.5 - It is moderately low glide but nothing ridiculous.  It is very high speed stable, i really like that - doesn't drift right unless you really overdo it. has a confident reliable fade that is solid/strong but not a BIG CUT.   I don't know how it does it, but its very stable/OS but doesn't hook THAT much, feels very reliable on confident putts.  Even landed some weak-side putts as well.  The feel reminded me a lot of a Pa1 but better.  No REAL bead, but it does have a little rise/bump where a bead would be (so, micro-bead?) Either way its very comfortable in the BT plastic.  Putts stick, just be aware its a lower glide putter.  It's a nice disc and from what I saw and what I've heard makes a good thrower/approach disc.   I dig the Shield
