My favorite disc of all time. Thank you discraft for the reissue....it's good and worth every penny. But for me these will be the over the water discs because the original is that much grippier.  And i have a lifetime supply because i love them that much. The z, cryztal and cryztal flx are all a point less overstable but a great compliment to the esp flx. I mean just try one they will change the way you play, you'll be forcing anhyzers to perfection in no time.

Great forhand approach disc, can flip to flat on a powered forhand shot but will always fade hard. I have two in esp flx and use it as my go to approach disc.

Beefy! It's faster than a speed 5 IMO. I give it a speed 6. All the other numbers are correct.

I love ESP FLX plastic. So grippy and durable. This is great for shorter spike hyzer, the shots or BH flex shots. Great utility disc

Put enough spin on the Drone and it'll give you a nice glide and turn in really hot. It's not great for beginners IMHO, but I really like it for specialty shots where you need to carve around a tree or trees and angle into the basket. The plastic on this one is super flexy, which gives it an interesting feel in the hand, but that's not a bad thing once you get used to it. If you're throwing a forehand upshot, you need to be super touchy, though. Otherwise, it's spiking into the ground.

(My profile picture is me spinning a Limited Edition Cryztal Flx Drone in negative which turned the neon green into a magenta. The physics of the centripetal force of spinning the disc: The energy transferring to the ground, and the balance in opposition warps the disc into a Mobius.) My experiences with this disc is okay. Tends to have more gliding tendencies in control situations. Mostly as forehand shots, in my experience. Just anhyzer flick it and it will glide by grinding out that angle with it's stability. Great for quick spike hyzers in wooded areas for around trees that are hoarding the basket. It can be a relatively grumpy disc about distance, bought, I assume it wouldn't be heavily assuaged by winds. If anything, probably helped some.  The rim makes me feel like it would be great for picky forehand rollers, although, this, I have not tested. Curious about lighter weights, I bought mine many years ago and have so far lost what weight mine is. But, I can only assume somewhere near 174 or 175. I would assume a very lightweight drone would be more understable. And as for the Cryztal Flx plastic? Discraft... Please. Bring that back. (The plastic type I have isn't on the P type list, so, I'm choosing ESP FLX so I can post this. It won't let me post this otherwise.)

The FLX ESP and Special Edition Z Drones have become staples in my bag for big hyzer upshots or for cutting through massive headwinds. It's such a reliable disc because you always know it's going to finish with a strong fade. The flight numbers are very accurate for this disc (Speed: 5.0, Glide: 4.0, Turn: 0.0, and Fade: 4); however, I would attribute it with a little more glide and a little more fade. Also, the rim feels really good and the FLX ESP plastic feels amazing in the hand. Overall, this is my go-to midrange disc for hyzer upshots and for those pesky headwinds. I recommend this disc for anyone who needs a good wind/ very overstable midrange. One of my favorite discs in my bag.

This is like a midrange firebird. It is awsome! I had a drone in I think Pro D plastic and I lost it and bought one in the Ti plastic. I hope this disc keeps it flight characteristics forever I love it!

Absolutely hated this disc at first! Now I find myself reaching for it more than anything else in my bag (especially on approach shots that are outside of putting range). It's definitely not for beginners, but once you figure out the flight path, no disc will fly truer time after time. I've had my FLX Drone for about 2 weeks now and I'm falling more and more in love with it each day. I've holed-out from about 85 feet behind a tree-line when I couldn't even see the basket. I trusted the flight path and...BOOM! In my short time of owning this disc, I've also hit the basket about 7 times with it already. If you give her some time, this disc will become a trusted and loyal companion.

The drone is hands down my favorite disc. If I have anyroom to the right and the hole is anywhere between 200-360', I'm throwing the drone. Superbly consistent, will not turn over, and usually stays close to where it lands, I have cryztal flx, flx and ti drones, with the titanium being my most used and most overstable. If you have above average arm speed and want super consistency out of midrange you can put your all into, try this disc.

For me, one of the beauties of the Drone is that 1. it won't turn over, and 2. I tend not to overthrow baskets with it. You CAN INDEED accomplish the same line as the drone with an underpowered driver, but then you have to deal with the skip, possibly overthrowing the basket, and making sure you get the power level correct. In my experience, the FLX drone sits very close to where it hits and can be thrown hard without going too far. This will tend to make it more accurate than under powering a driver. Just my opinion.

This disc does not turn over. (<--- period). I can chuck my 177+ FLX drone as hard as I possibly can and what I get is a dead straight flight with a hefty fade. If I throw it somewhat soft on hyzer, anhyzer, or flat, I get a dead straight flight with a hefty fade. If I forehand it hard or soft, I get a dead straight flight with a hefty fade... you get the idea. I originally bought this disc because I liked the way the massive rim feels in my hand (I'm 6'4" and have big hands). A lot of smaller discs like the Roc just didn't feel right, but the second I picked up the Drone I knew I was going home with one. Once I started throwing it, I fell in love with the "dead straight flight with a hefty fade." Even with the massive fade, I find this to be one of the most controllable mid range discs I have ever thrown. When I got out with my "leave the bag in the car and only carry 6 discs" setup, the Drone and Mako3 pair up nicely for a very versatile midrange section. I have never thrown a Gator or any other overstable midrange, but I can't imagine a better overstable mid than a Drone.

I love it. I have a ESP FLX 177+. I have been looking for a good overstabe mid and am glad I found it. I can't imagine a better disc for the overstable mid spot. Great for approaches where you need to know what the disc is going to do. I imagine I will always have one in my bag. I love the FLX plastic but would like to try the Ti Drone.

Not a beginner friendly disc, you have been warned. My friends think I'm crazy because I tend to use super overstable discs more often than any other kind. There is a method to my madness, an it is this: reliability. Too many times I've attempted the finesse hyzer flip and shanked it into swamp. Sure, when you nail it you feel great but I'm not a gambling man and don't like 50/50 to-fade-or-not-to-fade shots. This is why for 90% of my midrange throws I choose the FLX drone. It's so overstable it's creepy. Shots can be shaped with this disc as if you were drawing them on paper, you just need to hit that line. I like to use it for hyzer approaches when I don't like the buzz, and I like to throw it going from left to right on a hard anhyzer, a shot a lot of people are shocked to see out of the hand. This disc was not meant to finish right so touch and a lot of snap are required if you are going to attempt it. Overall, a mega overstble beast with the fade of legends. Respect the fade and it will respect you. My go-to midrange. If I had to pick one disc to play with, this would probably be the one. (I'm crazy I know.

LE Cryztal FLX Drone is a perfect go to disc in all condition of weather and atmosphere. If the wind is blowing at you like an F5 throw ths disc and it will stay straight if the tree is blocking the basket throw this disc and it will go right around it. If the air is dry and hot grab this disc it holds it shape and has great grip and will not crack. If the weather is 2* and snow grab this disc it does not slip out of your hand when wet and cold. Get one you will be amazed!

The FLX Drone compliments my Z Buzzz wonderfully. I had a Champion Gator before, but I ditched it because my Gator wouldn't give me enough fade. Don't get me wrong, the Gator has lots of fade on a hyzer throw, it just didn't give me enough on a flat or anhyzer release. This disc is invaluable to me. It's great for anyone with a lot of torque and power. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners.

The FLX Drone is my favorite and ONLY midrange in my cart. I LOVE this disc! Handles the wind with no problem and is SO predictable. Although Discraft has it rated as the most overstable disc they make, it flies extremely straight for me every time. I HIGHLY recommend this disc.

Amazing midrange! Great for intermediate- advanced players. Can put some power on it without it turning over. It is so overstable you can even forehand it when your in a situation that you need it. The flx plastic is amazing for this because it sticks when it hits the ground.

If you are looking for a mid-range disc that can handle any headwind and consistently ends with a strong fade, then the drone is the disc for you. One of the characteristics I love about the drone is the large skip at when the disc lands in most ground conditions. When throwing the drone it will rarely, if ever turn over, but will hold the straight or hyzer line you put it on. I love selecting this disc for getting around obstacles or in open fields in strong headwind conditions. For those beginning, I recommend starting with a buzz and when you can throw that straight, then move to the wasp, then you have arrived at the drone. It is a fantastic disc that now in my bag will never leave. (Experience: 2 years, average distance with midrange: 240 ft.)

was a big fan of the flx plastic before i bought a drone in it. I love the reliable anhyzer finish i get when i flick the drone and, since i play primarily in the nothern california foothills the flx plastic means a great grip even when its wet and cold. Recommend for anyone that throws a champion roc and wants a sharper finish

Not a favorite of mine in Pro D. I tried two different ones without really finding what I was looking for. I finally broke down and bought the FLX hoping for a different result I suppose. This was the disc I wanted the Drone to be. Flight path looks like a backwards letter C. To me this is the midrange equivalent of a Flick. The Drone has a beefy rim that you can really dig into for some power shots. There is no fear of throwing this disc with full power into any headwind I've experienced.
