The Volt was the first driver in the MVP line. This disc is designed for long, accurate placement shots. It holds a line very well, and the GYRO technology gives it a forward penetrating fade that make it ideal for long, tight fairways.

I love this disc specifically in electron plastic. It starts out as a disc that pushes pretty straight for a while but always has a reliable fade at the end. Once it's been used for a little while it flies much straighter and starts to drift right a little for higher power throws.

The volt is a great fairway driver that can be manipulated to achieve all types of shots. The volt is right on that 8/9 speed so it does require a bit of armspeed to throw well but is a lot more forgiving than faster speeds. Out of the box, the volt is on the overstable side. It likes to hold the line you give it but when it slows down it will hyzer out. When thrown on anhyzer you can get a nice long s-flight that fights out at the end to give some major distance. I have not been able to get much flip up out of the box but I suspect it will become a great flip up disc when it beats in a little. The rim was slightly weird when I first grabbed it because it did not feel like an 8 speed off feel. It is on the sharper side of the fairway drivers but still feels comfortable in the size. The speed I felt like I got when throwing fit within the 8 speed and did not have the distance and speed to be a higher number. I think my favorite shot with the volt is throwing it on a slight hyzer and watch it hold that angle the entire flight and hit the ground with not a huge skip. Very consistent disc.

The volt was a very interesting disc for me. It was 1 of the very first discs that I could call my own when I started playing about 9 years ago. It was given to me by a friend and it turned into my workhourse driver. When I started I only threw backhand and overhand, but the only way I could throw with any consistency was overhand, and I actually abandoned my backhand completely for RHFH untill about 6 months ago!! So the volt turned into a strictly thumber disc as I continued to play when I first started and it is a great disc for that but what made this disc one of my favorites was after my roommates dog took a bite out of it!!!! It's wasn't a huge bite, he just chewed up the rim in 1 spot on the disc and I thought it was ruined untill I took it out to throw it one last time and I launched the damn disc on a thumber and the thing  went about 100 ft father than it normally went!!! I didn't know back then why or how or what would cause it to do that because my knowledge of discs was still in its infancy, but I now I can take an educated guess and say that it just made it more overstable which can be good for an overhand disc because it takes longer for it to flip over which can give you more distance which is exactly what it did for me!! I lost my volt at widefield DGC (Colorado Springs) shortly after all this happened and they don't make the volt that I had anymore MVP has tweaked it a bit, but you can still use this disc the same way I used to! I haven't gotten another one yet but I plan on it and because of how much I have learned about the sport I have a feeling that it will be a great FD for me.

Perfect distance driver for beginners. Even with more experience it becomes a good flex disc or straight disc in a tailwind.

I love this disc! This disc fly's straight and has an amazing and consistent fade at the end. I prefer a really light one that I can flip up to flat and watch it ride straight. Overall this disc doesn't take much power to get it to do what you want it to. I definitely recommend this disc!

RHBH This disc just Hyzers on me, but side arm now we are talking. Great side arm disc for me. Nice and low just cruises with great finish. Side arm about 235-245 ft.

Still working with is disc. So far made it to the bag for side arm only.

    Really good side arm disc.

    Give it a shot

Unfortunately, today is the day I take the Volt out of my bag. Which makes me sad because it really is a great mold. I'm sure there's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said in the other reviews. It's an incredibly straight disc, not the longest in the world but one of the easiest to throw, you can place it exactly where you want and it will take any kind of line. So, I'm not going to focus on its pros too much.

The con....whatever plastic they use on the rim is literally the least durable plastic I've ever played with. I've only been throwing this disc for 4 maybe 5 months and the rim is basically destroyed. It's been in my bag but I haven't grabbed it in a while because it's not comfortable to throw anymore. Looking to replace it with something similar but I can't get behind a disc I'm going to have to replace 3-4 times a year.

If most of your courses are open park style golf with groomed holes I would highly recommend this disc. But if you're playing on anything rocky, or with gravel, or concrete, etc I'd say spare the heartbreak of losing a great mold and stick with some better plastic.

If you do end up going with the Volt it will throw beautifully and you'll have a great time and my only complaint is the durability of the plastic, nothing to do with the mold or flight characteristics.

I recently got a 173g electron volt and threw it in heavy winds today. This thing RIPS in headwind. It's just overstable enough that you can throw it 70-80% power and get a straight line of flight from it, with tons of glide. For reference I normally throw 280', with 300' being my best throws, today I threw this volt over 300' multiple times.

I can't attest to it in windless conditions but I can say that the grip on the electron plastic is phenomenal. I learned to play on Innova's Pro plastic, and this Electron variant from MVP is even better for grip. I can't say enough good things about this disc so far. It is definitely going into my bag.
