The Volt was the first driver in the MVP line. This disc is designed for long, accurate placement shots. It holds a line very well, and the GYRO technology gives it a forward penetrating fade that make it ideal for long, tight fairways.

My favorite fairway driver, maybe my favorite disc to throw period.  Exceptionally comfortable for a forehand grip, and perfect for a forehand dart down a narrow fairway.  Also holds lines well when thrown at an angle.  Applying max power can turn it over, but that's not really this disc's game, try 80% power and it reads your mind.

My experience has been that it has a little less fade than the advertised numbers, but my usual volt is pretty broken in.

I love this disc. I'm finding I drive with it more and more as I get better. It has such a reliable fade, so I use it over water shots and it always gets the job done. With that being said, it's difficult for a beginner to use for distance with it's overstability, but I would still recommend it to anyone since its such a trustworthy disc.

The plasma plastic makes it a bit more overstable than advertised. It is my go to forehand disc for when I need a straight flight that hooks up harder at the end.

There's a reason this is one of MVP's most recommended discs. In the plasma plastic this disc flies perfectly for me right out of the box. Off the tee it rides straight as an arrow when thrown flat, exhibits some slightly late turn, and then has a moderate fade that hooks around obstacles. It is pretty reliable for flex shots when new, and makes a great disc for hyzer shots with significant right to left movement. My biggest critique is that this disc somehow pushes distance too much, and lands only moderately shorter than distance drivers. After this disc beats in, it does need a slight hyzer to get that same straight flight, and eventually starts exhibiting more significant late turn during its flight. Eventually it becomes too understable to throw with the same consistency and essentially becomes an MVP inertia but less predictable. Currently I'm trying a Volt in the Proton plastic to see if it will take longer to beat in, out of the box it shipped quite a bit more overstable than I was expecting.

The Volt has got to be the favorite disc in my bag. Great for placement shots 70’-150’. Thrown flat it will fly as straight as you need it to with a reliable fade at the end. Love the feel of the plasma plastic.

Halfway through this spring, I had to completely redo my bag because I moved up from throwing 145-155g discs to mostly upper 160s.  But I couldn't find a replacement for my more-than-a-midrange standstill forehand (forehand primary).  A friend tossed me a plasma Volt and wouldn't tell me what the weight was on it (in other words, way above my normal).  I nailed that shot.  And repeated it on the next hole.  So, I bought one - in 174g.  What this disc is great for:  standstill forehand shots/approaches, flat shots, tight shots in the wind, downhill shots (I parked a downhill to the right tunnel), not feeling like it is as heavy as it is, but yet still having the benefits of a slightly heavier disc.

I lost my Volt a few weeks ago and have gone swimming several times to try to get it back. This disc was one of my most used control drivers of all time. I found this around the same time that I found a River and initially was torn but over time the overmold and something about the way that i could both, backhand and forehand this disc made me decide on this to be my go to control driver. Unfortunately, a Miller lite sponsored errant drive caused me to lose this disc on a local water hole. Maybe i will go swimming for it again tomorrow... if i fail to find it.... infinite discs may be cashing in on me ordering a replacement and backup

This is MVP's crown jewel. Absolutely one of the best fairway drivers on the market. Holds a straight line with minimal turn and a nice subtle fade at the end. Very comfortable in the hand, and it's great for backhand and forehand throws. Also slow enough for a beginner to get some pretty easy distance with. I can't recommend this disc enough, if you don't have one yet, do yourself a favor and pick one (or two) up. I have a Plasma at 174g and I just bought a Fission at 158g because I like this disc so much.

I've thrown every fairway under the sun. Go ahead and purchase a Plasma Volt right now. Just do it. Stop thinking about it and order one. Improve your distance and accuracy.

DO IT. It's the best disc MVP has ever made.

173 g Plasma. It was my first MVP disc that I ever threw. It was love at first throw. For my power and abilities of a year or so it flies just as advertised. This is a great disc for MVP to say it's their first. It has a very predictable late fade when powering down on it and is also a formidable forehander as well.

I also have a fission @161 and a proton @ 173. The plasma seems to be the most overstable, fission most neutral, and proton is in between for me.

I have now converted my whole innova bag to MVP.

This disc gets four stars only because it behaves nothing like its ratings.  The plasma Volt I have is super beefy.  Ive been fore handing it to try and get some beat in on it, but no noticeable difference yet.  It fades hard and long, and i get almost zero turn out of it unless I swing over on it.  I get some turn when i forehand it hard but not much.  I rate this disc 9 5 0 3.  Great disc, mine just didn't turn out to be what i thought it was going to be.

This disc will always have a place in my bag. Great for controlled shots where you don't want to go all the way to a distance driver, but still need to get down the fairway. For me it plays a little longer than my thunderbird. Even with the Plasma plastic, it still takes big skips in short grass. It's very consistent in that whatever line you release it on, it tends to hold that line for the first 1/2-2/3 of the flight for me and then hyzer out. The overmold feels very comfortable in my hand and the release is even better. I don't know whether it's a placebo or a real thing, but MVP discs just seem to come out of my hand very clean and this is no exception. Great disc, I recommend it especially as an intorduction to the MVP line to intermediate to open players.

After winning this disc in a giveaway (thanks Infinite!), I found it to be very close to what I thought it would. The three big deals about a Plasma Volt was that 1 - It looks amazing (which it most definitely does), 2 - It feels amazing (which is also does), and 3 - MVP is able to control the dome and decided to give the Volt more dome, to be more like their First Run Volts. Now, I can't speak to how a First Run flew, but compared to my Neutron Volt it has a much bigger dome, and lower PLH. After some field testing, I can definitely get a little turn out of it (more so than my Neturon Volt), and despite being heavier it seems to fly further as well, most likely due to that dome giving it more glide. I still need to field test this more and play a few rounds with it, but I have a feeling it will be my workhorse fairway of the future once I get a better understanding of it. If anyone is curious, definitely give it a shot.
