The MVP Electron Firm Atom provides a stiffer option for players who prefer a rigid feel in the hand. The Electron Firm Atom holds the same neutral flight path but offers a more consistent, firm release.

I've basically displaced my midranges with the Envy, Atom, Proxy combo. All three share the same core so the hand feel is consistent, and they all get great distance but are easy to control. Comfortable on backhand fan or power grip, as well as forehand. They all fly true to the numbers. Envy has some overstability, Atom flys very neutral, and the Proxy is slightly understable so you can make a lot of shapes with them. If I had to pick just one it would be a toss up between the Envy or the Atom. The good news is I don't have to make that decision and neither do you.

I putt with the Proxy, but I feel comfortable using all three in a pinch. So the Atom is a viable option for more than just throwing if you like the feel.

I use electron in cold months, neutron in spring and fall, and electron firm in the heat of summer.

The best putter I have ever used in circles 1 and 2. I do not throw the electron plastic, I use it strictly for putting. They break in perfectly after about 10 rounds to a straight flyer with minimal yet predictable fade into the basket. Great low profile beadless putter that you can anhyzer and hyzer put with.

I hyzer putt in circle 1 and throw flat releases at the edge of the circle then I throw anhyzer releases in circle 2 from 35ft and out, and this disc loves to be thrown on any angle.

I love the way it builds confidence and fights winds at 174g. Will be in my bag for a while unless the Prodigy PA-3 or Discmania P2 start to feel better in my hand, almost fly exactly the same.

It’s a great throwing putter, not so much a putting putter. I find it spits out too easily, but the feel of it in the hand is fantastic. Sort of like a faster, low profile nova from Innova

Few things are better than a nice straight flying putter. The Atom has a similar/depth feel to the Axiom Envy but has a much more workable flight. I have used a variety of electron and electron firm Atom's and will split the review into putting and throwing. The Atoms i have worked with range from 168 to 175.

The atom as a putting putter is very straight inside and outside the circle with a nice loft to it. MVP has a great level of consistency to production and these discs are almost always perfectly flat topped which makes them very comfortable in the hand. I use a mostly spin style putt and once you get these putters rotating they will just hold the line and drop out of the air at the end with a touch of fade.

On the throwing side in baseline plastic the Atom has a surprising amount of high speed stability and very good glide making it great for straight shots and nose up floaty approaches. In the more premium plastics the Atom has the same solid high speed stability but a bit more lowspeed fade to it.  Overall throwing this disc it will work the line you put on it until you start throwing it hard at which point premium plastic or bumping in stability to something like an Envy would be advisable.

Despite its neutral nature the Atom handles putting in the wind pretty well. Throwing in the wind this disc prefers a tailwind as it tends to flip quickly in a headwind.

Overall the Atom's a solid putter and is comparable with most of the industry standard beadless workhorse putters (Aviar, Warden, P1, etc) MVP's solid choice of plastics offers you a good range of flexibility or durability to fit most peoples preferences.

This disc was just a little disappointing. Doesn't feel as good as it could in the hand and doesn't have the glide I expected. A little touchy as well compared to other driving putters.

I bought a few Electron Firm Atoms, two for me and one for a friend. From the first time throwing the Atom I was in love.

The Electron Firm plastic is very stiff, fairly durable, but will not withstand repeated tree hits when driving with it. The grip is amazing and feels very good in hand.

Driving with the Atom in an open field I can give it all the power I have while on a slight hyzer. The Atom will flip up to flat or wander slightly and travel, for me, up to 350'. The Atom has so much glide that it will carry and glide more than any other putter or even mid range that I have ever thrown. The Atom is insanely straight in it's flight path: Thrown with hyzer it will demonstrate a small amount of fade, and thrown flat it will finish straight.

Putting with the Atom is very comfortable. It is a point and shoot putter for sure so one will only have to aim at the basket and the Atom will fly on exactly the line it is thrown. Not much more can be said about putting: Point and shoot.

Approaching with the Atom is amazing! It will hold both hyzers and anhyzers extremely well and, because of the glide, will carry exactly to where you want it to go.

The Atom has amazing glide, flies straight, and has taken strokes off of my game.

I've been throwing the Atom for a couple years. Love it. The electron firm holds up great, but still has fantastic grip. I like shallow putters, they just seem to fit my grip, so the Atom was a good find. I use it for straight to slight hyzer approach shots to about 200'.

This is my go-to putter.  Very low profile putter and very comfortable in hand with no bead.  MVP baseline plastic is also some of best on market. The gyro rim is nice when using electron soft plastic because you get soft grip but added stability/firmness from rim being different plastic.  Rim plastic is very grippy and grabs chains well.  Electron soft is less stable than the electron firm.  I use 174g soft for outside 50 ft and upshots/turnovers.  I use more stable firm plastic inside circle.  This disc takes no effort to putt straight at basket.

I decided to redo my review on this disc after a lot more time with it. And if I ever have to play one disc challenge rounds, this is the disc I'm reaching for no question.

Before, I said that electron isn't super durable. But its not one tree hit and done. The rim on MVP discs is made out of magic or something. Its so durable. I haven't had a rim on a disc with base or similar to base plastic last so long. The problem with normal electron plastic is not the rim, its just the warping at the impact zones. But, it is stated that Electron is not meant for taking hits which I can definitely see but I still love the disc. The electron feels pretty similar to Classic Blend from Dynamic Discs so its not floppy, but its not super stiff and its really grippy.

I decided to get an Electron firm for putting and that feels closer to just Classic from DD and I love it. Its really grippy, but its stiff so it feels good coming off my hand. But the plastic and rim are grippy enough that it doesn't just slide off chains or out of the basket.

So throwing this disc is great. There are lots of discs that do what this does, this disc just happens to fit my hand better and feel better when I throw it. It goes STRAIGHT, or will hold anything you want it to. I use this disc for drives or almost any approach shots. You can count on this thing to not get much ground play.

If you want a disc that is pretty neutral and will do what you want, this disc is amazing for it. The Anode or Ion are also very good options. The Anode is a little taller than the Atom, and the Ion is a beaded Anode. Give any a try and you'll probably like them. I still don't recommend using Electron for driving because of the risk of warping on impacts. But approaches or putting the Electron plastics are great. Probably the best feeling base plastic in the game.

I will ALWAYS have an Atom in my bag. I will be getting a Neutron Atom for drives. I'm very happy with this disc and its also very great at showing flaws if you throw it wrong. Seriously if you're curious about MVP or Gyro in general, I can't recommend them enough. The Atom, Ion, Anode, and Axiom Envy are fantastic discs. Try them out for sure.

I am a newcomer to the MVP Atom. I was previously using an Envy/Proxy combo for driving, and putting with pilots and later wardens. I was looking to consolidate on molds a bit, and was recommend an Atom because I prefer non-beaded putters. Wow, I was missing out. A heavier weight Proton Atom makes a great driving putter, or Electron Firm if you need a little more turn. I also have a Medium Electron heavier weight for upshots that I need to stick a little more. For putting I like an Electron firm as well with my Spush style putting. Slick enough to come out of the hand very clean, but sticky enough to grab the chains well. I don't have much experience with throwing it into a headwind though, so I can't comment on that aspect. All-in-all, an amazing all around putter if you like beadless putters! I feel the numbers given 2, 3, .5, .5 are a good medium. A smidge more turn in electron, and a smidge less in proton.
